The Pupil Premium Grant is an allocation of additional funding provided to schools to support specific groups of children who are vulnerable to possible underachievement. These include pupils who are entitled to free school meals, those looked after by the local authority and children of armed service personnel.

Byron Wood Academy is fortunate to have excellent grounds and a good size hall in which to enjoy our PE and sport. This is a strength, both as part of the curriculum and in extended learning opportunities. The children have many opportunities to learn new physical skills and games and to take part in sports festivals and also competitive sport.
